Exterior · Landscaping & Hardscaping
The first room a guest walks through.
Driveways, walkways, patios, planting plans, irrigation, and outdoor lighting. Designed alongside the architecture of the house, built by a careful crew who treat the front yard as the introduction to everything that follows inside.
What we handle
Driveways
Asphalt, interlocking pavers, exposed aggregate, and natural stone with proper base, drainage, and clean transitions to the city sidewalk.
Walkways and entries
Front walks in flagstone, dimensional limestone, or precast pavers. With proper lighting and grading that handles a Toronto February.
Planting plans
Plans developed with our landscape architect or with a planting designer of your choice. We install, then we maintain for the first season.
Irrigation and lighting
Drip and spray irrigation with smart controllers. Path lights, uplights, and tree lights on low-voltage circuits run with the house's smart-home system.
Grading and drainage
We solve the drainage problem before we plant the tree. Drainage and grade are the line items most landscape contractors skip.
Notes from the GTA
- Heritage trees on the property are not negotiable. We protect them and we work around them.
- Toronto's tree by-law regulates the removal of trees on private property with a diameter of 30 cm and up. We file before we cut.
- Driveways are the largest single piece of hardscape on most properties. They deserve real design attention.
The front yard is the first thing a guest reads about the house. Make it the most generous sentence.
